Congresswoman Giffords says, “My constituents and all Americans deserve the facts, not gimmicks or false promises.”
But, Giffords calls on a ban on exporting oil to foreign countries, even though she voted against such a ban four times.
Giffords says it is a, “cruel hoax” to say that drilling can reduce gasoline prices and that it can take ten years to bring these new oil reserves online. But, Giffords’ energy independence program will only fill 25% of our needs by 2025; a full eighteen years from now!
Tim Bee agrees that Arizona voters deserve facts, not gimmicks and false promises.
Here are some facts:
While Giffords’ energy plan calls for reinstituting a ban on exporting oil to foreign countries, she has voted against such a ban four times in the last eighteen months; the last time on August 1st of this year.
Giffords and the rest of the Congressional energy leadership oppose extensive drilling off-shore and in ANWR because they say it takes seven to ten years to develop Alaskan and off-shore oil reserves. They don’t tell us, however, that Brazilian oil companies are starting to drill at deep off-shore properties and expecting to produce up to 100,000 barrels of oil day in two years.
Instead, Giffords is calling for an expensive program to develop renewable energy sources by 2025. If seven to ten years is too long to wait for energy, how can Giffords think 17 years is okay?
When it comes to energy policy, Giffords is giving Arizonan voters false facts, gimmicks, and false promises.
Tim Bee believes we will continue to use oil for the near future. Until we have an extensive alternate fuel program in place, we will need to drill off-shore and in Alaska. He believes we need to reduce paperwork so the oil can get to American consumers faster.
He believes American consumers should benefit from American petroleum, not middle eastern countries who want to harm us. And, he believes in the American “can do” spirit that can give us oil from these deposits in less than ten years. That’s why Tim Bee is the obvious choice in November.
