Isn’t it slightly appalling that Gabby, who represents a district that has a high military constituency, would so willing accept campaign cash from MoveOn.org? This is a group that does nothing to support our military men and women, but instead slanders them and calls our generals betrayers of the American people.
Yet Gabby seems content to keep the nearly $7,000 in campaign donations she has received from them, and on the 26th of September she proved her comfortability with being close to this shameful group. In the Foreign Affairs Committee, she voted against the Pence Amendment to bring to the House floor a motion to condemn MoveOn.org and their scathing advertisement in the New York Times against General David Petraeus. But once the motion got to the floor, she flip-flopped on her stance with the issue and voted for the Pence Amendment.
What Gabby’s actions prove is that she is only interested in doing what is right when someone is watching. Rather than standing up for the military men and women who live and work in her district, she tried to privately defeat legislation that would have shown them that she supports them. But once the cameras in the House were rolling live for C-SPAN Gabby tried to hide her true feelings by voting in favor of the amendment.
If you go to Gabby’s website, however, there is no mention of the amendment anywhere. There won’t be either, because if she publicizes her vote once she was on the floor, then MoveOn.org would be very irate with her and would be likely to pull its thousands that have been marked for Gabby’s 2008 re-election campaign.
It begs the question, what is really on Gabby’s agenda? Who does she really for, her constituents or a far left-wing special interest group?
