Steny Loves Gabby

Today in Tucson, our esteemed Congresswoman, Gabrielle Giffords is making an appearance with ultra-liberal House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer of Maryland. In her ongoing campaign to keep her feet in the Democrats inner-circles, Gabby has brought Steny to Arizona to stump for her.

You know, stumping for someone in their ballpark usually means you’re there to tell everyone that their representative in Washington is a fantastic person, working hard, doing what is right, and defending America. So what is Steny supposed to say about Gabby?

Some Pima Democrat: And here he is, our great leader in the U.S. House, Steny Hoyer!

[Some cheers, some boos from the ultra-left upset about Iraq]

Steny: Thank you! It’s always good to be in Tucson, especially when I’m here to talk about someone I have had the pleasure working with in the 110th Congress. You know, Gabby Giffords is a Congresswoman with a character unbeaten. In 2006, she promised you change in Washington, and her first vote cast as a member of the United States House of Representatives was to elect Nancy Pelosi Speaker of the House! And change has come!

[Moderate Cheer]

Steny: She has stood with Arizona’s finest - Raul Grijalva, Harry Mitchell, Ed Pastor - and declared that more taxes on the American people is the best thing for our economy!

[Cheers from the ultra-left, light applause from liberals, moderates confused]

Steny: She has stood firm in her liberal principles, and declared that unions should not have the right to a secret ballot! Doing so, Gabby has said she wants radically alter Arizona from being a right-to-work state!

[Some applause, some confusion]

Steny
: She has stood firm in her belief that Iraq is not where our soldiers should be! Our soldiers should be fighting in places where terrorism is a real threat! My friend John Edwards has said that the War on Terror is a manifestation of the Bush Administration, and that is a principle that myself and your Congresswoman, Gabrielle Giffords stand united behind!

[Explosion of cheers from ultra-left, but still quiet as the rest of the crowd has left in disgust of their 'moderate' representative.]

Gabrielle Pelosi

For those of you who are skeptical of just how liberal Gabby Giffords actually is, considering the following. Of all the controversial votes in the U.S. House, Gabby has broke rank with Nancy Pelosi a whopping total of 3 times. The Arizona Daily Star has figured that there has been 69 votes on a heated issue, which means that Gabby Giffords is in lock step with Nancy Pelosi 96% of the time.

But when you’re being primed by the ultra-liberal leadership of the Democratic Party for a leadership role of your own, personal ambitions and power grabs are much more important than representing your state and your district.

“I wouldn’t be surprised if she’s the first or second female president of the United States,” said the ultra-liberal former Labor Secretary Robert Reich, one of her mentors. “She’s of that caliber.”

If she is being considered by insiders of the Democratic Party to be a future Presidential candidate, despite the fact she hasn’t even completed one half of a year in Congress, why should she be worried about the concerns of her constituents?

She claims to be strong on immigration reform, but is merely providing a lip service to CD8. As a State Senator she opposed several immigration bills. She says she wants to see comprehensive immigration reform, but when the President of the United States personally invites her to join him on his tour of the border in her state, she snubs him.

Instead Gabby is pandering to the left, and then the liberally left. She’ll go to parties with Arizona’s ultra-liberals and bash Bush’s policies up and down just to satisfy her base. Yet when she gets into public, she makes comments certain comments in an attempt to please those who are not radically liberal.

“We’re gun-toting, truck-driving, personal-property-loving people. I own a gun and drive a truck.”

But don’t tell that to her liberal friends that fund her. Then again, they probably hear her say that all the time in public, and just chuckle inside because they know she is just blowing smoke. Because she’s not allowed to smoke in private back rooms and lounges at the Capitol building, because the ultra-liberal policies of Nancy Pelosi banned Congressional members freedom to do so. Gabby supported that because she is Nancy’s protégée.

96%? Must buy a business class seat on Pelosi One.

Beginning of the End

Let the month of May mark the beginning of the end for Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords. Last week, the most liberal members of the House of Representatives voted to surrender in Iraq within the next 9 months. The measure failed 255 to 171. Gabby joined Harry Mitchell and our Republican members of the House in voting against the bill.

A line has been drawn in the sand. Gabby has been serving to the pleasure of the most left-wing people in Washington. She has clearly shown her true colors, that she is no moderate, but in fact, an ultra-liberal, an ideal that few people in America can be elected from. By voting against this bill, she has started a ripple effect within the ranks of the Democratic Party. In 2006, Joe Lieberman, the Democrats 2000 nominee for Vice President was backstabbed by his own party in the primary of his 2006 re-election bid to the Senate. It was at this time, that the hardcore leftists came out of the woodwork to oust someone who had not stood rank-and-file with them. Ultimately, sanity prevailed, and Joe Lieberman, the sane Democrat on Iraq, was re-elected as an Independent.

This is now Gabby’s fate as a Congresswoman. Because she has not voted for this ultra-liberal bill on Iraq, her re-election primary will consist of her versus the ultra-left. Like Joe Lieberman, her fellow Congressmen will jump on the bandwagon to oust her for not being one of them.

So now Gabby has a choice. Does she actually develop into a real leader, and do what is right for our country, our troops, and Iraq? Or does she fall in line with Grijalva and Pelosi, and stay on track as a member of the radically left? Either way, Gabby is doomed. If she does not fall in line, the ultra-left will oust her. If she gets in line, the voting public will see her for what she really is, and oust her.

It is the beginning of the end for Gabrielle Giffords.

Gabby’s Rust Bucket

Want to know something? Gabby is a good talker. No, no, she is! Boy does that girl know how to talk. She could probably sell someone a rusted bucket and convince them that it would change their life forever.

…and that is just what she has done. She has sold the people of her district a rusting bucket known as the Democratic Party, a bucket that she proudly sits in. If you think about it, there are really 3 main issues Gabby used to get herself placed in that bucket on the shoulders of Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid.

Issue 1: The War on Terror. Did she ever talk her way through this one. Gabby used the political climate of Iraq to her advantage. She knew that people wanted to see progress and change in Iraq, so she told them she would get them that change. “We must pursue a responsible exit strategy from Iraq, but only after Iraq is secure.”But she also knew that she couldn’t be viewed as weak on fighting terrorism, because as much as the nation wants to see a new way forward for Iraq, they don’t want a repeat of 9/11. “We need to get serious about homeland security, by implementing the recommendations of the 9/11 commission. Nothing is more important than keeping Americans safe.”

Issue 2: Fiscal Responsibility. Gabby knows that few in America actually get elected to public office by promises of raising taxes, pork-loading bills, and fiscal insanity. “Giffords will take these skills and experiences with her to Washington, D.C. to bring fiscal sanity back to our nation’s finances.” Gabby told everyone that it was time to stop the madness and use our tax dollars for the strict purposes they needed to be used for to make our country run.

Issue 3: National Security/Border Security. Gabby knew that protecting our borders and defending our nation were top issues for many, and still are today. So she adopted a stance that she knew would win her a seat in Congress. She acted tough on the border and national security issues because that is what the vast majority of Americans want. A safe homeland and secure border. “Our ports – uninspected. Our border – unprotected. And we’re still dependent on Mideast oil. Five years after 9/11 Washington’s failed to make us safer.”

But as soon as Gabby arrived in Washington, she let all of her campaign talk drift away with the wind. She voted to elect ultra-liberal Nancy Pelosi as the Speaker of the House. The leadership Nancy Pelosi has offered has been called “destructive” by some members of her own party. She voted force the President of the United States to bend to the political desires of few on the issue of Iraq. When the President stood firmly, she voted to override his veto. Instead of actually practicing fiscal responsibility, the Iraq War bill the Democrats drafted was bursting at the seems with pork. Gabby voted for the largest tax hike in American history which totals $39,200,000,000 over the next 5 years. And like a good jibber-jabber, Gabby has done nothing but talk about the border, instead of working to secure the border.

The rusting bucket of the Democratic Party that Gabby has sold Arizona is nothing new to America. It is the same Democratic Party that governed for years through high taxes and deflating national security. The only difference between the Democrats of then and the Democrats of now, is they know how to talk like they are going to do something, but when push comes to shove, they would rather enact an ultra-liberal agenda that is going to get America nowhere fast…

…and Gabby is one of them.

Gabby-in-Chief

Yesterday, Gabby proclaimed to the United States that she is more powerful, more influential, and is a better military commander, when she voted to override the President’s veto on the Democrats Iraq bill. Gabby’s vote proclaimed that she is better than every military expert, including General David Petraeus, who has said that the troop surge needs till the end of the summer to see if it will have any positive effects. Fellow 4-Star Giffords, however, had her own political agenda in mind when she cast her vote. The measure of course failed 222 to 203 votes, far short of the 2/3 majority needed to snub a veto.

But really it was just another day at the office for Gabby. She has been in lock step with the most liberals members of Congress since she was sworn in. Now that Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi have agreed to the President’s terms to drop the timetable language, what will Gabby do? The most liberal Congressmen and Senators are splitting from the party leadership, saying they will not vote for any bill without the timetable attached to it.

Gabby’s vote will prove one of two things, depending on which way she goes. Either she is the lapdog of the Congressional Democratic leaders, or she really is an ultra-liberal.

What will she do to save her seat on Pelosi One?
