Timing Gabby

Thank you to Think Right AZ for posting on this latest topic:

Gabby get’s $165k? This turned my stomach the minute I picked up the paper this morning. Yes, I do subscribe to the Red Star. For $165k, you’d think that she’d be coherent on Iraq. Have “timetables for surrender” ever been a successful way to win a war…ever? I can’t think of one time in world history where one country has said to another…if we don’t win by March 31, 2008, then we give up…

Gabby needs to adopt timetables in all legislation:

Illegal immigration – if it isn’t corrected by March, 2008, then no funding and we’ll send all the border patrol agents home.

Failing schools – if the kids don’t learn enough, cut funding and send the teachers home.

Cancer – if it can’t be cured by 2008, then cut funding for research and send the doctors and scientists home…

I say we cut Gabby’s funding and bring her home in 2008

Gabbynomics

A poll released by Rasmussen Reports found that 49% of American adults think that doing their taxes is worse than going to the dentist.

The same poll finds that only 19% of Americans find the United States tax system fair. 56% believe that tax increases generally hurt the economy, with only 17% of Democrats disagreeing. 52% say tax cuts generally help the economy.

If this is the way the majority of Americans feel about the economy and taxes, then why did Gabby Giffords, who claims to be fiscally conservative, jump in line with Nancy Pelosi to vote for the largest tax hike in U.S. history? A tax hike which totals $39,200,000,000 over the next 5 years, costing Arizonan’s an additional $2,701 a year in taxes?

That’s Gabbynomics. Say one thing about the economy, do another, ignore the voice of the people, then don’t care.

Does first class on Pelosi One serve good wine?

I care, I promise

Notice that Gabby was absent from President Bush’s visit to Yuma yesterday? She has been claiming since the days of the campaign that she wanted to see immigration reform pass through Congress, yet when the President of the United States, who is actively pursuing solutions to the problem illegal immigration comes to her own border state, she declines his personal invitation?

Oh, but she did show up on PBS to debate JD Hayworth on the issue and let the viewers know that:

“This is a very complicated problem. The last Congress failed to deal effectively with the immigration crisis. And that is why it is important for this Congress, Democrats and Republicans working together, along with the leadership of the president — and I’m really pleased to see him in Yuma — step up and do the right thing in overhauling our immigration laws.”

But she won’t be around to rally support for the President. She won’t show up with other members of Arizona’s Congressional delegation to work on this crisis.

So what is she doing to do? Host another forum talking about immigration, but doing nothing to solve the problem?

Gabby’s Iron Fists

Think Right AZ has the latest scoop on what the illustrious Gabrielle Giffords is up too.

Another major issue (caught on tape – I should post it as “Gabby Gone Wild”) was brought up. She discounted States’ rights by saying that it wouldn’t matter what happened at the State level and that things would get handled by DC. (That is a comforting thought).

Gabby forced folks to put their questions in writing before she’d answer them. I was shocked that she would pick and chose the questions. I remember seeing Senator Jon Kyl last summer take all questions without hesitation and without picking who & what would be asked.

Long story short, Gabby’s Iron Fists are crushing down on Arizona’s free-thinkers and the freedom of states rights.

Flashback: Remember when Pelosi was in town at ASU saying she would overturn immigration propositions passed overwhelmingly by the voters of Arizona last fall? Gabby was at her side.

Gabby v. Arizona

“The terrorist threat is real, and the violence terrorists wish to do us cannot be ignored. Our government’s first responsibility is to prevent another attack on our country.”

“We must pursue a responsible exit strategy from Iraq, but only after Iraq is secure.”

“I do think we shouldn’t exit precipitously without giving this one more shot.”

“I think we’re restoring stability.”

Sounds like the words of a rank-n-file Republican right? Standing firmly behind President Bush, ready to defend his actions and the beliefs of the Republican Party. Nope. Think again.

The first two quotes are from a Gabby Giffords September 26th, 2006 press release when she was campaigning for a seat in Congress.

The second two quotes are from our Democratic Governor Janet Napolitano after a visit to Iraq at the invitation of Defense Secretary Gates. Upon her return, the Governor gave her support to President Bush’s new strategy in Iraq, which includes the surge of troops.

Yet just days later Ms. Giffords words on Iraq seem to be nothing more than campaign tactics to get herself elected. Gabby and 217 other members of Congress decided that they are all military commanders who know what is better from Iraq than our troops, commanders, and President do. Not only is Gabby thumbing her nose at Arizonan’s, she and the established liberals of the Arizona Democratic Party are turning their backs their own ally and our Governor that knows great strides are being made in Iraq, and that the surge is working for.

So who is Gabby really working for? Our state? Or is it the liberally left who are trying to mold her into Nancy Pelosi’s successor?
