Notice that Gabby was absent from President Bush’s visit to Yuma yesterday? She has been claiming since the days of the campaign that she wanted to see immigration reform pass through Congress, yet when the President of the United States, who is actively pursuing solutions to the problem illegal immigration comes to her own border state, she declines his personal invitation?
Oh, but she did show up on PBS to debate JD Hayworth on the issue and let the viewers know that:
“This is a very complicated problem. The last Congress failed to deal effectively with the immigration crisis. And that is why it is important for this Congress, Democrats and Republicans working together, along with the leadership of the president — and I’m really pleased to see him in Yuma — step up and do the right thing in overhauling our immigration laws.”
But she won’t be around to rally support for the President. She won’t show up with other members of Arizona’s Congressional delegation to work on this crisis.
So what is she doing to do? Host another forum talking about immigration, but doing nothing to solve the problem?
