General Giffords

The United States Army today promoted the newest General to assist 4-Star David Petraeus. The new commander is named Gabby Giffords (D-AZ), a freshman Democratic Congresswoman from Arizona. Gabby’s nomination to become an commander of US forces in Iraq came as a large policy push by Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) and Harry Reid (D-NV).

Pelosi was ecstatic after the Democrats rammed through a purely partisan troop withdrawal bill in both houses of Congress this past week. The bill had billions of dollars of unrelated pork barrel projects, including the promotion of Giffords to General. Pelosi could not have been happier that her new General had years of no military experience.

After her victory Gabby quoted her hero Michael Moore by claiming that “There is not a huge terrorist presence in Iraq”. In 2004 Michael Moore went on record saying that there is no terrorist threat to America.

Behind closed doors later in the day with Pelosi, Reid, Jack Murtha, and many prominent liberals, sharing many bottles of wine, the Democrats celebrated their victory as the new commanders of the Iraqi forces…all 283 of them.

It is clear that Giffords knows best about policy in Iraq. Having been on the ground there several times with Petraeus, it is only a matter of time before Gabby is the commander of all U.S. forces stationed in the Middle East.

Matthew Hunter Kramer is your typical 31 year old liberal from Nevada. He works hard for a living. He drives a Mercedes. Zacahry Moyle, Executive Director of the Nevada GOP recalls that Kramer pointed a rifle at his face, telling him he would be back in President Bush vetoed the Iraq bill the Democrats are about to send to the White House.

At the center of it all? Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords. Arizona’s Democratic freshman in Congress who has voted the way of Nancy Pelosi and Jack Murtha in every controversial, ultra-liberal bill to hit the floor of the House.

Waiting for failure

If Gabby’s goal as a member of the United States House of Representatives is to completely back stab our troops, our commanders, and the people of Iraq, then mission accomplished. Harry Reid is telling the world that Iraq is a failure, our soldiers have failed, and America is a failure. And like a good Democrat, Gabby is standing firmly behind Harry.

Remember when, after returning from Iraq with Senator Kyl, Gabby said she would “never vote” for a bill that would slowly choke off funds to our troops in Iraq, forcing President Bush to begin the withdraw?

Here is a message from a marine in Ramadi:

“yeah and i got a qoute for that douche harry reid. these families need us here. obviously he has never been in iraq. or atleast the area worth seeing. the parts where insurgency is rampant and the buildings are blown to pieces. we need to stay here and help rebuild. if iraq didnt want us here then why do we have IP’s voluntering everyday to rebuild their cities. and working directly with us too. same with the IA’s. it sucks that iraqi’s have more patriotism for a country that has turned to complete shit more than the people in america who drink starbucks everyday. we could leave this place and say we are sorry to the terrorists. and then we could wait for 3,000 more american civilians to die before we say “hey thats not nice” again. and the sad thing is after we WIN this war. people like him will say he was there for us the whole time.”

Gabby and her Democrat friends are hoping for a complete failure in Iraq. For them, if Iraq is a failure, they win. They win because they’ll exploit it, and use it to their political advantages to strengthen their majority in 2008 and take the White House. That is the truth. If Gabby truly cared about our troops and a positive outcome in Iraq, then she wouldn’t be so adamantly behind Harry and Nancy.

But again, when you’re being set up as a successor to Nancy and Harry, why would you give a damn about this country, its soldiers, and its future?

In a recent interview with Explorer News, Gabby Giffords talked about the need for health care reform. Health care reform that comes at the taxpayers expense, letting the federal governments size 72 waste bust at the seems.

“We’re the most affluent country on the planet,” Gabby said in the interview. But because not everyone has health care, her suggestion is to let over 500 politicians in Congress become not only military generals (H.R. 1591), but medical physicians as well. Last time checked, Congress wasn’t even good at handling drug trafficking and the border. So why is Gabby giving her endorsement to Hillary-Care? Does she think that she is a better decision maker on medical issues than trained doctors and nurses?

That answer comes from a recent poll released from Rasmussen Reports about health care. 10% of Americans polled believe that Communist Cuba has a better health care system that the United States, while 60% say that America has the better system. Infamous film director Michael Moore is trying to prove in his new movie that Fidel Castro has it right.

“While only a small number of American adults believe that Cuba offers better health care, Moore has already proven that he can achieve commercial success with a message embraced passionately by a minority of the population.”

So despite the fact that most Americans do not think socialized medicine is the answer to fixing the problems in our health care system, Gabby wants to fall in line with Michael Moore and use the power of the majority in Congress to ram socialism down the throats of every one of us. Never mind that that is not what her constituents hired her to do. Never mind that that is not what America wants her to do. But when Congress is being run by Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid, and you’re their lapdog, why does listening to the voice of the people matter? Gabby’s the government, she does what she wants, when she wants.

Maybe Gabby worked out a deal with Moore to appear in the film as an “expert” on the subject.

The truth hurts

The truth is that Gabby Giffords is a part of an entourage of nationwide liberal opportunists. These liberals exploited the issues and mood of the nation during 2006 to run in Republican districts as moderates to simply win a Congressional seat and fulfill their personal desires, and the desires of the far left of the Democratic Party.

“From the suburbs of Pittsburgh to the deserts of Arizona, Democratic candidates who styled themselves as pro-life, pro-gun, pro-war, or pro-business — or some combination of these — won their races last November and entered the House of Representatives in January.”

Ten freshman “moderate” Congresspersons are identified as these opportunists. Of the 10, 4 have followed rank-and-file behind Nancy Pelosi on every controversial vote to come up in Congress. Gabby was one of those four. Some of those controversial issues that Gabby voted in line with Nancy were the $400,000,000,000 tax hike, the Iraq pullout, and the elimination of secret ballots in union elections.

“By winning a term in 2006 to represent a Republican district, each of the Democratic moderate freshmen earned two years to convince GOP voters that Democrats can look after their interests just as well as Republicans. But to the extent that each votes and thinks Democratic, each also risks a short career that could be over as soon as 2008.”

Doesn’t Arizona know someone else that votes with the leftist of the left in Congress every time? Oh, right, Congressman Raul Grijalva. Raul and Gabby, like two pea’s in a pod.

Hypocrisy runs deep

Here’s an interesting bit of political hypocrisy. Both U.S. Reps. Gabrielle Giffords and Raúl Grijalva voted for H.R. 800, which eliminated the secret ballot for union elections. But, they both voted against Rep. Paul Ryan’s amendment to the congressional budget resolution that would, among other things, require the House of Representatives to hold a roll call vote for any expenditure over $50 million. I guess secrecy is great for them, but not for employees.

Learn something new everyday. Of course, that is no surprise to anyone who knows the real Gabrielle Giffords. That woman not being the moderate Democrat she said she was in the ‘06 campaign, but instead being the ultra-liberal who has fallen in step with Nancy Pelosi, Steny Hoyer, and Arizona’s very own, 3rd most liberal member of the House, Raul Grijalva.

The hypocrisy runs deep on this one, but again, what does Gabby care? She’s being sized up as the face of the next generation of Democrats. That is much more important than actually serving her constituents, which again live in a right-to-work state. But there is the theme of America’s new Democratic majority, states rights are a thing of the past now that the government is ready to expand its borders of power. And Gabby is going along for the ride.

The Hill is reporting that Gabby has stored away over $300K in her 2008 campaign war chest. Boy is she going to need it, and then some. When you get elected to Congress as a moderate Democrat in a Republican district, then pull some of the stunts that she has, 2008 won’t be an easy re-election.

But what does she care about ignoring the voice of her constituents? She is the molding protégé of Nancy Pelosi and Jack Murtha. If she keeps drifting further and further left, then she becomes the unstoppable leftist that the liberal establishment wants her to be. Someone has to take over the ultra-liberal agenda when Nancy and Jack retire.
